He uses specially for each project developed cameras and processes to capture changes and transformations onto single images. Questioning and challenging our understanding of space, he proposes in his photograph a new reading of our environment and the&nbsp;interactions we have with it. &nbsp; Wolfgang Weileder is&nbsp;a visual artist and sculptor based in Newcastle who has exhibited&nbsp;internationally for the past 30 years. Pioneered by Edwin Land, instant photography cut out the need for darkrooms, development and printing, giving you your photograph (almost) instantaneously. This talk will trace the development of instant photography from the 40’s to the present day, looking at its cultural importance as well as the artists who have utilised it for their work. Sprache spielt eine Rolle in der Verursachung des Klimawandels, der Biodiversitätskrise und beim Überschreiten planetarer Grenzen. Um unsere Beziehung zur Natur und den Umgang mit ihr zu verändern, müssen wir die Sprache, mit der wir sie beschreiben, hinterfragen und erweitern. «Wie reden wir über und mit der Natur?» – ausgehend von dieser Frage nähern wir uns unserem Verhältnis zur Mitwelt&nbsp;an.&nbsp;Dadurch rücken verschiedene Naturvorstellungen und deren Einfluss auf Ökosysteme in unser Bewusstsein. In einer Reihe von Workshops und Gesprächen wollen wir unsere eigene Sprache reflektieren und sie als Werkzeug für die Entwicklung neuer Perspektiven und Ideen verstehen. Exhibition dates: 27th June – 21st July 2024 Opening hours: 9am – 5pm Polina Chizhova and James Stephen Wright will be at the Grainger Market on the 27th June from 3-5pm for an informal opening. Concept and Planning Playing with Rules is a public video art exhibition that presents artistic positions that challenge the status quo and question how society is constructed every day. In the presented works, the artists transcend invisible rules and laws of nature, making us question the architecture of what is ‘normal’. In ‘The Hunt’, Christian Jankowski hunts food in a supermarket with a bow and arrow, whereas ‘A Skulk in London’ plays with how understand and interact with the animal world around. ‘Surveillance Chess’ by !Mediengruppe Bitnik reverses power structures with a game of chess through a CCTV system and ‘Sputnik’ by Peter Aerschmann displaces the technologisation of space exploration with a focus on the materiality of waste produced by human civilisation – afterall, what if only crisps and cigarettes are left behind us? Finally in ‘Abi Palmer Invents the Weather (Heat)’, the artist recreates weather conditions for her cats – a DIY version of forces of nature, whilst Copa &amp; Sordes invite a raven for a fine breakfast. The exhibition invites visitors and passers-by to playfully reconsider the normality of everyday actions and the structures that shape us. It is composed of a textile diptych (living lichen on printed polyester, each 150x200 cm) and two monitors playing animated growth simulations. The installation is accompanied by an artist book with contributions by Dane Sutherland and Matjaz Vidmar. Driven by a desire to investigate the concept of time, its military origins and digital future, as well as the tension between linearity and circularity, the publication aims to reveal the complexities and dangers connected to the ordinariness of time.
